Indonesia Sumatra Mandheling Gr.1

Available at the Annex & CTI NJ

Sumatra’s crop is advancing at a steady pace with a good-sized crop expected. Some 35 to 40% is harvested so far, and the harvest is expected stretch over another 2 to 3 months. As such, the volume harvested is good, but demand is also very much present and at this stage and very little stocks are about.

Not unlike other years the rain is again impeding the harvesting and processing activities. While this isn’t ideal, it is common practice for the Sumatran coffee sector. The annual weather cycles provide for very fertile conditions, thus, this year we see again very nice cupping coffees with lots of character.

Taste Profile/Cupping Notes:
This coffee demonstrates some classical Indonesian characteristics, such as sweetness, dark chocolate, lemon rind and deep, woody flavors.
